Captcha Settings
Are fake bot accounts cluttering your affiliate program? Dealing with spam sign-ups is a huge pain for any site owner. FluentAffiliate gives you a simple way to protect your affiliate registration form from spam and bot sign-ups by using a captcha challenge. This keeps the bots out and ensures only real people join your team.
Accessing Captcha Settings
To find these security options, go to your WordPress dashboard. From the FluentAffiliate menu, click on Settings, open the Registration Settings dropdown on the left sidebar, and select Captcha.
How to Configure Your Captcha
Setting up your captcha only takes a few minutes. Here is a breakdown of exactly what you need to fill out on this page:
- Enable captcha on registration: Check this box to turn on the security challenge for your sign-up form.
- reCAPTCHA Version: Choose the type of challenge you want your users to experience. You can pick the v2 Checkbox (the classic "I'm not a robot" box) or v3 (which works invisibly in the background based on a score).
- Site Key & Secret Key: Paste your specific Google reCAPTCHA keys into these two fields. If you do not have these keys yet, you can easily generate them from the Google reCAPTCHA admin console by visiting google.com/recaptcha/admin. See the Google reCAPTCHA Integration guide for step-by-step instructions.
- Validate Keys: Click this handy button to double-check that the Site Key and Secret Key you just entered are correct and working properly.
- Failure Message: Type in the text you want users to see if they fail the security check. By default, it will say "Security check failed. Please try again.".
Once you have entered your keys and chosen your settings, make sure to click the Save Settings button at the very bottom to apply your changes.
